Cooking Foods Italian Recipes – Tuna & Pickles Russian Salad

Not really coming from Italian tradition, this tuna variation of the famous Russian salad is one the most common appetizer in Italy: tasty and easy to make I am sure you will enjoy this dish. You can make the pickles and the mayonnaise sauce by yourself or buy them in the market: this is up to you.

Ingredients:

Egg – three

Pickles – two pounds

Tuna, canned – half pound

Potato – one pound

Carrot – one pound

Mayonnaise sauce – two pounds

Capers under vinegar – a bunch

Extra virgin olive oil

I use the following pickles: celery cucumber, carrot, onion, pepper bell, cauliflower.

Use the colander to drip off the vinegar.

Boil the eggs and the potatoes, I add two pinches of marine salt to the water.

You can use it on the side of beef or fish dishes.

Just adding ham and bread you can make tramezzino sandwiches with it.

You can also set in a nice plate and decorate with carved pickles, shrimps, capers, olives and send in table as an elegant vegetarian main course to be eaten with fresh bread.
